SEMA demands a ceasefire and arms embargo
The Southeast Massachusetts Coalition for a Free Palestine calls for a complete U.S. arms embargo against Israel and demands Israel’s return to the ceasefire in place
The SEMA Coalition for a Free Palestine condemns Israel’s violation of the ceasefire agreement and its resumption of a genocidal assault on the Palestinian people, which has killed 400 people in the past few days.
We stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people, who have been subjected to massacres, ethnic cleansing, full-blown genocide, apartheid conditions and innumerable violations of their human rights for over 75 years, abuses committed by the Israeli state with the essential military and diplomatic support of the United States.
We demand that
the US government immediately stop all military aid to Israel, which is not only morally repugnant but illegal under federal law;
humanitarian aid be permitted to flow unimpeded to where it is needed in Gaza, without Israeli interference, with no further interruption of the supply of electricity, fuel, and other necessities;
there be a complete, permanent ceasefire and continuation of negotiations pursuant to the ceasefire agreement, with a view towards completing the exchange of Israeli captives for Palestinian prisoners and detainees;
Israel, the United States, and European governments which have supplied weapons to Israel assume financial responsibility for the reconstruction of Gaza;
Israel end its campaign of ethnic cleansing and settler violence in the West Bank;
Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant be arrested and tried for war crimes;
Mahmoud Khalil, who has been illegally detained, be immediately released, and that there be no further persecution and harassment of anyone for exercising the democratic right of free speech.
